2023 - 2024 Treasurer's report
The 2023-24 Rotary year for our Club has been another remarkably successful year. The
main service project has been the Tour De OROC which raised a record amount of funds.
This year we appointed Peacocke Accountants and Advisors, Dubbo to assist us with
maintaining our compliance obligations, providing financial reports to our auditors, Ryan and Rankmore, Dubbo, and assisting with the preparation of monthly reports for the Club’s board and Club meetings. This initiative provides additional support, and technical expertise to reduce the pressure and workload on the Treasurer role. As a result, the Club was able to
provide audited financial statements on time for our annual general meeting.
In the future income streams will be made via digital transfers, tap-and-go and online
donations via our website. The club has embraced this change and continues to develop
systems and capabilities to manage the change and make it easier for all.
Tour De OROC presented the Club with a new challenge of raffling a car via a digital platform for the sale of all the tickets. Special thanks go to David Hayes and his team at Dubbo City Toyota for obtaining the vehicle and helping to promote the tickets through Facebook, the club's website, and other mediums. Carol & Paddy from Brewarrina bought one ticket online Ticket #797 and own a brand-new RAV4.
In total, the Club has donated an impressive amount of $383,109 which is detailed below.
This demonstrates the entrepreneurial efforts of the Club.
The Club is in a strong and sound financial position and continues to grow. The fundraising activities of 2024 Destination Outback have already raised significant funds and with the Black Tie Ball to occur in May 2025, the coming 2024/25 year is trending towards another profitable year.
The Club has made two significant cheques to Macquarie Homestay this year:
Fit out of a family room in Stage 2 $55,000.00 (2022- 2023)
Tour De OROC to the construction of Stage 2 $235,400.00 (2023-2024)
This year we also made the following donations to projects:
I want to thank Sam Peacock for his assistance as assistant treasurer and treasurer of the Tour de OROC.
