Event History
The first Destination Outback event was held in 1990. Howard Laughton suggested the idea to Peter Scott and after doing some work on it they presented it to John Robertson, President of the Rotary Club of Dubbo South at the time, who enthusiastically backed the idea. Since then there has been many trips with hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for small communities and charities in need.
about the event
Destination Outback is the major fundraising activity for the Rotary Club of Dubbo South.
Destination Outback has gained a respected reputation throughout the outback as an event that raises much-needed funds to support needy individuals and community groups.
The real experience comes from spending time with people from different walks of life in an environment that seems to level everyone involved regardless of where you choose to live, and what makes up your normal day today.
